Feihaber makes World Cup bow

articlemain

Benny Feilhaber came off the bench to help the USA come from 0-2 down to draw against Slovenia at the World Cup on Friday afternoon.

Having missed out in the 1-1 draw against England last weekend, the former Derby County and Maccabiah star was thrown on at the start of the second half by coach Bob Bradley, replacing Robbie Findley.

Goals from Valter Birsa and Zlatan Ljubijankic had put Slovenia in pole position to clinch a place in round two, but with Feilhaber, 25, pulling the strings and linking midfield with attack, the USA hit back with goals from Landon Donavon and Michael Bradley.

The result put the USA second in the group, behind Slovenia and a point ahead of England prior to tonight's match against Algeria.
