JC BARRY GOLDSTEIN TROPHY GROUP C
Temple Fortune B 3 Jewventus 1

A double from Joey Glynne and one from top-scorer and player-manager Terry Jeffries helped Temple Fortune B keep alive their hopes of progressing in the Barry Goldstein trophy with a gutsy 3-1 victory over Jewventus at a soggy Chase Lodge.

Glynne, back after a two-month injury lay-off seemed eager to make up for lost time as he marked his return with the opener within two minutes. After riding a couple of challenges, Glynne cracked a 25 yard screamer right in the proverbial postage stamp.

Glynne doubled his tally and Fortune's lead soon after with an emphatic finish after he was sent clear, but Jewve quickly hit back to reduce the deficit.

Fortune were unlucky not to go further clear when Dave Sawyer's header was harshly ruled out for pushing, and the half ended 2-1.

Jewventus started the second half strongly but were undone on the counter, top-scorer Jeffries cooly slotting past the keeper with his deadly left foot.

There were further chances at both ends, Glynne almost completing his hat-trick but had his effort cleared off the line.

Jewventus pressed in the closing stages but could find no way past a stubborn Fortune defence which was superbly marshalled by Adam Field.

On the rare occasions they did make it through, they were denied by an inspired Phil Small in the Fortune goal.
