Leeds Sunday Alliance Division One
Porto FC 5 Leeds Maccabi 2nd 3

Leeds Maccabi 2nd succumbed to yet another painful defeat as they threw away a golden opportunity to break their duck in the Sunday Alliance Division One.

Despite controlling the contest for long periods against Porto FC, Simon Fisher’s men failed to make the most of their dominance as they sank to a fifth consecutive league reverse.

Raif Saipe’s stunning 25-yard drive and Charles Sadler’s first of the game meant Maccabi went in level at the break but they were unable to build on their first-half performance.

With Howard Moss back in the side and Rob Selwyn coming in from the first team, Leeds produced their most impressive showing of the campaign.

And when Nick Vale fired Leeds ahead just after the break, that elusive victory looked within their grasp.

But Porto hit back with three second-half strikes to snatch the points and leave Fisher’s men reeling.
