A hat-trick from Natan Fagleman gave Crumpsall a much deserved victory over unbeaten MJSL title favourites Westdene.

Crumpsall took the lead inside three minutes as Shloime Friedman's through ball was tucked away by Fagleman.

Westdene levelled following a softly awarded penalty after the referee spotted a pushing offence against Zevi Saunders after 10.

Crumpsall really bossed the midfield with man of the match Gary Freeman, Matt Jacobs and last season's leading scorer Friedman working their socks off to deny Westdene's flair players time and space in which to operate.

Westdene kicked off the second half with a long ball down the left which Ben Rose crossed into box. The ball squirmed under the body of the keeper and bounced off Zevi Saunders head and into the net.

This served to wake Crumpsall up as Jacobs and Freeman took a grip once more on midfield. The equaliser came by way of a penalty as Brett Howarth tripped up Shloime Friedman who duly obliged from the spot.

As both teams went for the win it was Crumpsall who looked more likely to score as they continued to knock the through balls down the middle. However, it was a Westdene break which was abruptly halted by Matt Jacobs which set up the third goal. He continued through the heart of the Westdene team to lay it off to Friedman who found Fagleman who shot through the keeper's hands to restore their advantage.

As Westdene poured forward, Crumpsall hit them on the break as Fagleman completed in his hat-trick to seal a fantastic victory.
