Erlich leaves Ram doubled up at US Open

articlemain

Jonathan Erlich got the better of compatriot and former playing partner Andy Ram to reach the second round of the men’s doubles at Flushing Meadows.

Together with Jordan Kerr of Australian, Erlich won 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (11-9) to stun the 8th seeds.

The result looks to have jeopardised Ram and Julian Knowle’s hopes of playing at the London Masters in November.

Having progressed to the third round of the ladies singles, Shahar Peer teamed up with Monica Niculescu to reach round two of the doubles. Seeded 13, they beat Michaella Krakicek and Marie Eve Pelletier in straight sets.
