Double delight for Peer

articlemain

Shahar Peer enjoyed a win double at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Having progressed to the third round of the Ladies’ doubles with Cara Black earlier in the day, she then teamed up with Jonathan Erlich to beat the fifth seeds in the mixed.

The Israeli pairing overcame Aisam Quereshi and Kveta Peschke 6-3, 6-1 on Court 10.

It was an excellent day for Israel with 15th seeds Andy Ram and Meghann Shaughnessy claimed a straight sets victory over British duo Kenneth Skupski and Elena Baltacha.

Tuesday sees Israelis in action on the show courts. Peer and Black take on second seeds Katarina Srebotnik and Peschke in the opening match on Court 12.

Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram play against Jurgen Meltzer and Philipp Petzschsner in the second match on Court 2.
