articlemain

Here are the star men from the top-flight on Matchday 3 of the MGBSFL.

1. HARRY FINE (Harmen) - "distribution was spot on and his two spectacular saves were a lift to the whole team, resulting in a clean sheet against Woodford"

2. SAM LIPTON (ML Lions Blue) - "the youngster was class for the whole game against NWN"

3. SAM CASTLE (Harmen) - "seems to have settled comfortable into his new position having previously played as goalkeeper and striker and he led the line well"

4. JJ SPIRO (NL Raiders A) - "was ill in bed in the lead up to the game but came out and expertly handled any Redbridge threat. He was our best player in pre season and he has carried that form into the season"

5. BEN LEWIS (Faithfold A) - "they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Ben Lewis proved them wrong on Sunday. The striker-turned-midfielder excelled at the back for the Superhoops, alongside former POTY Dan Howard to ensure there was no way through for the champions and he was a key factor in Faithfold's resolute performance that ended Hendon's long unbeaten run"

6. LIRON MANNIE (NL Raiders A) - Rob Richman "wouldn't swap these two for any other players in the league. They dominated the midfield, both being strong defensively and crucially excellent at driving us forward time and time again"

7. SAM REEVES (Faithfold A) - tower of strength against Hendon, won the all-important midfield battle - both individual and collectively

8. BEN JOSEPH (NL Raiders A) - Rob Richman "wouldn't swap these two for any other players in the league. They dominated the midfield, both being strong defensively and crucially excellent at driving us forward time and time again"

9. DAVE WOOLMAN (Oakwood A) - been threatening a performance like this for a while now, four goals helped destroy lower division opposition

10. JONNY QUINN (Oakwood A) - "his finishing was absolutely outstanding. He scored three with his left, one with his head and another with his right. There are not many at this level who can finish like that". And his RVp-esque header was top-notch!"

11. JOHNNY HAIK (Faithfold A) - capped a brilliant and industrious performance with the goal that ended Hendon's year-long unbeaten run
