Danny Caro's Goal of the Week: December 9

articlemain

A man nicknamed Jules came up with this gem as Division Two table-toppers North West Neasden B had a Chanukah horror show.

WINNER: - Jules Gertner (Los Blancos) - wrapping up the points with a 90-yard run after picking the ball up from a fruitless Neasden set-piece. He rode various challenges with sheer grit and determination whilst having the composure to slot a sumptuous finish, giving Len Bloom in the Neasden goal no chance. The question isn't so much if this is goal of the week, but more if it's goal of the season. The tekkers on display were most certainly of the unbelievable variety

NOMINEES

- Brad Rains (Redbridge JC B) - smashed home an unstoppable 30-yarder low and hard in off the post

- Daniel Harrod (Brady B) - a sublime 30-yard free-kick. Unstoppable!

- Josh Green (Norstar A) - cut in from the left win, left his man for dead and calmly finished at the near post past the helpless Jake Doffman in the Brixton goal

- Mitch Lassman (FC Team B) - goalkeeper David Gordon's long free kick eluded everyone and was met on the half volley by Lassman on the left hand side of the penalty area. The ball flew past the goalkeeper into the far right-hand corner. The watching David Woolfe described it as "the best goal he has seen in ages" and got the B's back on level terms at 1-1
