Danny Caro's Division Three TOTS 2011/12

articlemain

There are no less than four players from champions Glenthorne B in what is a top quality XI to represent Division Three.

1. JORDAN DAVIDSON (Glenthorne United B) - "has really been a real rock. At this level of football, to have a fantastic keeper is so important. Mistakes at the back will often occur and when you have someone as good as Jordan then you feel safe. His all round game is fantastic. From kicking, throwing, punching at the right time and general shot stopping, he can not be faulted. He is the main reason why Glenthorne have the best defensive record in the MSFL. He is also very mature for his age and a great character to have around. I see big things for him"

2. JULIAN GERTNER (Los Blancos) - "aged 23, Mr Consistent, not just this season, but since he joined the club when we formed in 2010. Despite being a right-footer at left-back, Jules has rarely ever put a foot wrong. The sign of his strength is that I can only remember one occasion this year or last when an opposition winger has given him a real game and that was Athletico Finchley’s RW in the BGC – so it’s fair to say his league performances have been faultless! His link with Adam Hersh both going forward and holding back was almost telepathic, and the number of goals conceded and scored down our left wing tells its own story"

3. GAVIN SHERMAN (UJIA) - "he is so tough to play against. Doesn’t give you any time on the ball and surprisingly fast. No header is a ‘gimme’ and he makes you work to get the ball. I understand he has scored a couple of good and important goals this season. A player, gentleman and a bit of a lunatic"

4. ADAM SPECK (Blizzard Storm) - "always at the heart of everything Blizzard do, a superb leader - had some more great games"

5. ADAM SHAFRON (Glenthorne United B) - "last season he was Chigwell’s player of the year and when he agreed to join the Thornes the team knew this was a great signing. Although he is not the captain, he is proper leader and an example to all around him. The amount of headers he wins during game is amazing and his reading of the game is fantastic. Always in the right place and very rarely has to make a last-ditch tackle. The second biggest reason why Glenthorne have the best defensive record in the MSFL"

6. STEFAN BENFREDJ (Shirley Park) - "Stefan's had his finest goal scoring season in the history of his career here at Park, scoring 18 goals in 16 games and has also set up a large percentage of Park's goal. He has the ability to score goals from range - something they missed last season - and controls the pace of the game he complements the team's footballing philosophy"

7. NICKY PLOTNEK (Shirley Park) - SEE TEAM OF THE SEASON

8. DANIEL LASSMAN (Glenthorne United B) - "a giant in stature and a giant on the pitch. He has put in a shift every game he plays and has scored some fantastic and important goals. He does not stop running yet always has the energy to put in a strong tackle and win countless headers in the middle. This is a player I would hate to play against and delighted he is in my team. Another person that sets an example and a real determination to succeed"

9. SAUL CONWAY (Shirley Park) - "in the wake of the news that Jason Lindsey was due to depart from Team Park, they were swift in finding one of the most consistent finishers in the MSFL to fill Lindsay's boots and signed Saul Conway. Putting aside injuries, Saul’s had an excellent season and has scored 28 goals in 14 games. Clinical in front of goal, scoring from all over the field and has settled very well in his debut season"

10. CRAIG SANDFORD (Glenthorne United B) - "a fantastic season that has gone beyond his expectations and hopes. The JC MSFL Golden Boot winner contributed countless assists and even dropped back a few times to shore up the midfield and defence. A few worldy goals in the mix too!"

11. ASSI AVITAL (UJIA) - "reliable, strong, dedicated and a team player. I would hate to mark him on a Sunday morning. He has scored with his left and right foot and with his head"

Manager: Sam Rosenthal & Craig Sandford (Glenthorne United B)

Save of the season: Rob Levene (Team JLGB)
