Daniels in seventh heaven for Styal South

articlemain

A stunning seven-wicket haul from Andy Daniels inspired Styal South to a four-wicket success over Salford Blue Jays.

South won the toss and invited Salford to bat first. Dan Glicher started the rot with an early wicket before Andy Daniels joined in the party. He was simply unplayable as the Salford batsmen could not get to grips with the seam and swing. Only Indy Samra with 27 managed to upset the bowlers.

Wickets fell at regular intervals before he achieved a hat-trick with the final three balls of his spell to bring the Salford innings to a close.

Daniels finished with 7-33 easily the best bowling of the season and must be in line as leading wicket-taker in the league. Amir chipped in with a couple with a fine display of pace bowling.

Styal Souths made heavy weather of reaching their target but Gary Essue steadied the ship with 22 enabling South to reach their target.

Grant Pakter was the pick of the Salford bowlers with 3-31 but could not do enough to derail the Styal innings.
