SHONNY TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL FIRST LEG
HYDE PARK ROVERS 0 REICH INSURANCE RANGERS 1

Heaton Park Rovers boss David Seligman didn’t know whether to laugh or cry after his side crashed to a quarter- final first-leg defeat in the Shonn Trophy.

HPR were left to rue missing a series of chances to put the tie to bed. And to make matters worse they now have to recover from a one-goal deficit. Simon Rabinovic finished off a swift counter-attack in the second-half as Reich Insurance Rangers sealed a smash-and-grab win.

Seligman said: "Our finishing was woeful. We could still be here now and still would not have scored. It was one of those days.

"Fair play to Reich, who put their bodies on the line and defended for their lives.

"But we only had ourselves to blame. We don’t play now for two weeks and we will be in training practising our shooting.

"I'm confident we will still go through, but we should have made it easier for ourselves."
