Cup woe for Manchester Maccabi

articlemain

Manchester Maccabi suffered a painful 132-run defeat by Forresters in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Chasing 184 from 40 overs for victory, Maccabi were skittled out for just 51 after finding life difficult against the Forresters bowling attack.

Ahmed’s 7-13 destroyed the Maccabi batting line-up after what had been an encouraging bowling display by Ray Tammam's troops.

Jamie Benjamin finished with figures of 2-28, while Tammam also took two wickets to limit Forresters to 183-7.

But Maccabi were unable to handle the pace and power of their opponents as they slumped to a disappointing defeat.
