HIS White under-10’s lifted the Maccabi Junior Cup following a 6-2 victory over HMH Haifa.

HMH went into the final with a psychological edge having come away from their three league meetings against HIS undefeated, but there was nothing to separate the teams in a goalless first half.

Tani Pfeffer broke the deadlock in the second period when a corner from Raffi Barnett found Ami Jacobs whose shot was deflected into the path of Pfeffer who fired home.

HMH equalised soon after but HIS regained the upper hand when Noah van Dijk converted.

Hendon started to take control, with Samuel Brodie stamping his authority in midfield.

HMH threatened sporadically but were met by a brick wall of resistance in the shape of Lior Mansouri, Akiva Ereich and Ami Jacobs, while goalkeeper Daniel Neville pulled off several fine saves.

HIS stepped up a gear with further strikes from Raphael Ezekiel (2), Barnett and van Dijk ensuring they won silverware for the second consecutive season.

HMH scored a second in the closing stages, but it was HIS's day.
