Cup final preview: Redbridge JC history

articlemain

Redbridge Jewish Care started some 18 years ago when the club was formed by Mickey Brown, Mickey Tabor and Lee Silver. At that time the club was Barkingside Youth Jewish FC and was an Under 14 side.

The club, at that time, started life in Division Five and after a couple of seasons broke away and became independent, changing their name to Barkingside United.

Having successfully clawed their way up the divisions to the Premier League, Sinclair House approached the team around 2006 and asked them to join. The club rebranded itself Barkingside and Redbridge and after two seasons evolved into the Redbridge team we have today.

It would be amiss not to acknowledge a few individuals who, over the years, have contributed so much to the success of the club. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to managers Micky Brown, Steve Ritterband, Trevor Moss and Greg Bookman. In addition, special mention must go to Lee Silver who continues to this day as Club Secretary, providing invaluable backroom support to the club.
