Cricketers helped by Maccabi GB

articlemain

Following the demise of the Maccabi Cricket Committee, a working party has been set up to safeguard the future of Jewish cricket in London.

Maccabi GB have helped reaffirm plans to run the T20 and National Knockout Cup competitions.

The T20 will be held on July 11, with holders MAL looking to defend the title against Belmont & Edgware, Chigwell & Hainault and Southgate. Favourites MAL have been drawn against BECC in the semi-finals with Southgate meeting Chigwell.

There will also be a playoff for third in an event that commences late morning to avoid clashing with the World Cup final.

Ten teams initially entered the National Cup. This has been whittled down to the semi-final stage where three of the four teams have been confirmed. South Manchester Maccabi entertains BECC while MAL meets the winner of the tie between London Maccabi Vale and Chigwell. The final will be held on September 5.
