articlemain

Clore Shalom Year 5/6 won the Watford Schools Partnership tournament.

Managed and coached by school PE teacher Niv Dovrat and Nigel Burns, they beat 10 other local schools to the trophy.

Finishing second in the group, Jason Burns steered Clore to victory in the semi-final against Saffron Green, with goalkeeper Harry Bernstein sealing the win with a top-class save.

A 2-0 victory in the final against Monkshead came courtesy of an extra-time free-kick from Burns and an own goal.

Burns said: "Some of the boys tasted victory in the competition at the younger age group last year and this was thoroughly deserved for all their hard work, especially in the semi-final and final."

Squad: Harry Bernstein, Ethan Schechter, Uri First, Jordan Copans, Ben Woolstone, Jamie Berger, Daniel Levitan, Daniel Mincer, Josh Burns
