Class tells as Brixton go through

JC CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND TWO
CAMDEN PARK 0 BRIXTON OLD BOYS A 3

Class told as John Nitka's Brixton condemned Camden to their first defeat of the season - running out comfortable 3-0 winners at the Hive.

Two goals from Jamie Kent and one from Ed Weisz did the trick.

Kent opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a delightful flick following a through ball from George Fierstone. Weisz then doubled the score with a powerful header in the 49th minute from a corner before Kent completed the scoring in the final minute.

Brixton boss John Nitka told JC Sport: "It was a hard-fought encounter but we showed our class.

Both teams had a player sent off - one of which I did not understand - however we came through and onto the next round."

Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "We were beaten by the better side on the day. The effort was there but the quality wasn't always.

"Several of our boys including myself will be slightly disappointed with their performance. However, there were positives to take from the game, lessons to learn and they'll be a big reaction next week.

"Congratulations to Brixton. They were well-drilled, talented and thoroughly deserved their win."

Camden had Mike Khalastch sent off following two bookable offences.

Kagan added: "The ref was way too strict on dissent and showed several unnecessary cards to both sides for disagreeing with his decisions, making it impossible to communicate with him.

"It was not a dirty game by any stretch of the imagination. I hope Brixton's straight red card - also shown for dissent is rescinded and three of our bookings should be chalked off too."
