LEE CASH booked his place in JC MSFL Team of the Week with a sensational four-goal salvo that settled a seven-goal thriller against FC Team A at Rowley Lane.

FC Team's goals came through Declan Selbo, Jon Toby and Shuey Mirwis.

This game proved to be as tough as Lions had expected. Even though Lions had a big share of the first 20 minutes, two defensive lapses allowed FC Team to find themselves 2-0 up.

It took the second goal for Lions to actually come to life. It was just before half time that the superb Cash clinically side footed in a cross, and Lions were back in it.

A tactical change at half time saw Lions change to a back three, and this paid dividends early in the second half as Cash again finished off a nice spell of play from Lions. Could Lions actually get in front?

Matt Perlman, who played at right-back was superb, defending brilliantly and charging forward and delivering some great crosses in attack. Eventually the Lions attacking pressure paid dividends, and it was again the ATM Cash made it 3-2 Lions.

With just 15 minutes left and Lions dominating the game, FC Team broke and a deflected cross gave the FC Team forward an easy tap in at the far post. 3-3.

Lions were stunned, but dug deep and knew that only three points would do, and who but Cash could be at the end of another great move, giving Lions maximum points.

Lions manager Andy Landesberg told JC Sport: "We are delighted to get the three points that sees Lions climb another two places. We were sloppy in the first 20 minutes, our passing and concentration was not good enough, but this now fast becoming a group of players that want work for each other and also have a fantastic group spirit. They are slowly but surely starting to show us what they are capable of."

FC Team secretary Jonny Pearl, who was standing in for manager Mitch Young for the game, told JC Sport: "Under difficult circumstances, considering we lost our starting two centre-backs and keeper only a few hours before kick-off, followed by our only other recognised centre-back getting injured after 35 minutes, I thought we were excellent.

"We were excellent for the first 37 minutes of the game and completely dominated, taking a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, the injury to Silvs disrupted us and the experience of Lions shone through. I was delighted with our second half efforts and even after going 3-2 down we still had enough belief to equalise. Fitness then kicked in and we just couldn't hang on.

"Credit to all our players though as they showed what they can do under difficult circumstances. With a little bit of luck we could have beaten a very strong and talented Lions team and there were certainly more positives than negatives. Big thanks to Dave Grossman for standing in in goal and having a great game and a special mention to Shuey Mirvis for scoring his first goal for the club.
