Cash bonanza in January awards

articlemain

North West Neasden hotshot Lee Cash is the JC MSFL Player of the Month for January.

The former JC MSFL Player of the Year was the standout choice after a sensational run of form that saw him temporarily lift the team to the top of the Premier Division, as well as march into the last eight of the Peter Morrison Trophy.

Cash came up trumps with seven goals in three, plus three assists. He started the month in fine form with a sensational hat-trick against FC Team.

NWN joint-manager Darren Yarlett told JC Sport: "People have been saying he is finished, but he's proved them wrong."

Oakwood are celebrating a win-double after bagging both the top player and managerial award.

Centre half Adam Levine has made an excellent return following a three-month injury lay-off.

Oaks joint-manager Ric Blank told JC Sport: "Adam has boosted our performances no end. The players who took his place in those months did unbelievably well for us but Adam has come back and put in some huge performances for us - most notably against Leeds in the Morrison.

"We hope he stays fit for the rest of the season. If he does we'll do OK."

Alex Schock and Blank were recognised as the top gaffers after masterminding victories over Brixton, Redbridge, Leeds and Woodford, as well as booking their place in the last eight of the Jewish FA Cup.

Dan Baneth has been the star man in Division Two. Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "Dan has been in lethal form up front - netting four in January and turning in a series of performances that his idol, Dennis Bergkamp, would have been proud of."

Glenthorne United B continue to clean up in Division Three. With promotion already in the bag, keeper Jordan Davidson has been in "brilliant" form all month.

Joint-player-manager Craig Sandford also commended the performances of James Law, Adam Shafron and Daniel Lassman.

Athletic Bilbaum hotshot and co-player-manager Edward Green gets the nod in Division Four after scoring five goals in three games.

Lions B stopper Declan Green wins the Safe Hands award as a series of top performances in nets. He came in for special praise in the Morrison clash against South Manchester and the win over Division Two league leaders Camden Park.

The new signing of the month award goes to Oakwood striker Jason Lindsay. Manager Ric Blank added: "He signed for us before Christmas and made a goal-scoring cameo off the bench against Temple Fortune. He's something so different to what we’ve had previously and has brought our play to life.

"He works hard for the team and plays intelligently - and scores goals. He's made a big difference to us. His challenge is to sustain his good form over the next two months."
