Bridge boys leave it late

An extra-time strike from Steve Summers booked Redbridge Jewish Care A’s place in the second round of the London FA Sunday Intermediate Cup at the expense of Turkish team Turmenjoy Aydin Spor Kulubu. Craig Johnstone had opened the scoring for the East Londoners.

Chaim Gothold (2) and Gav Noe were on the mark as Hendon United B overcame Caribb FC 3-1.

A hat-trick from Josh Lewis plus one from Daniel Cordell helped L’Equipe thump Team JLGB 4-1 in the preliminary round of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup. They will meet UJIA in round one. Ian Levy scored JLGB’s consolation.

Second half strikes from Lee Cash (2) and Matt Stock gave defending champions North West Neasden A a 3-0 win over Faithfold A in the JC MSFL Premier Division. NWN joint-manager Daniel Fox commented: “We knew that we would win if we scored first. It ended up being a comfortable victory.”

Danny Reuben (2), Alex Norman and Hadley Silver steered London Maccabi Lions B to a 4-2 success over Bafana Bafana. Eyal Fisher and Simon Lawrence replied. Lions joint-manager Gavin Stollar said: “We got the result and the performance.”

Greg Corin (2) and Ari Last inspired Hendon United A to a 3-1 victory over South Manx A. Alon Hershkorn netted for Mancs who also missed a penalty.

Southgate Harmen A made it three out of three in Division One with a 6-0 demolition of Brixton Old Boys. Alex Bourne (2), Dan Beckwith, Jonathan Hirshler, Jon Morris and Craig Phillips saw them home.

Jonny Blain’s first half effort was cancelled out by Trevor Henen as North London Raiders A drew with Montana Boca United A.

Matt Geey (3) and Gary Bloch were on target as Oakwood beat Redbridge Jewish Care B 4-3. Marc Silver grabbed a treble for RJC.

FC Team A notched up double figures with Mitch Young (4), James Ryan (2), Lorian Madanes (2), Eddie Sternberg and an own goal contributing to a 10-0 hammering of North West Neasden C in Division Two.

Captain Simon Kaye (2), Stefan Simons (2) and Jeremy Newton eased Rapid Banta to a 5-1 victory over Faithfold B.

North London Raiders B bypassed FC Team B courtesy of strikes from Daniel Hildebrand and Steve Silver.

Jonathan Green, Sam Senchall and James Gold did the damage as London Maccabi Lions C crushed Southgate Harmen C 3-0.

Temple Fortune maintained their unbeaten start with Rob Benson (2), Ben Isaacs and Paul Walker on target in the 4-3 win over Holy Mount Zion.

Darren Bloom and Yoni Raeburn were on the mark as Montana Boca United B edged past title rivals Woodford Wanderers 2-1 in Division Three. Elliott Gold replied.

Elliott Pearl was the matchwinner as Catford & Bromley Maccabi inflicted a first defeat of the campaign on Zig Zag.

Raphael Noe and Ben Russell fired hat-tricks as Hendon United C crushed Faithfold C 8-1. Adam Hersh chipped in with the other two. Nick Roman replied.

Two goals from the evergreen Mark Wagman and one from Serge Cowan helped AC Cricklewood claim one of the surprises of the day as they beat pace-setters UJS Norstar A 3-1. Eli Houri replied.

Glenthorne United B made a winning start with David Blackman (3), Jordan Sapler, David Blitz and James Law accounting for Athletic Bilbaum. Edward Green claimed a consolation.

Jake Sanders, Daniel Curtis and Craig Sandford helped Redbridge Jewish Care C overcome Hendon United D.

Tony Plaskow and Oliver Henry scored in UJIA’s 2-1 win over Jewventus 2-1. A late strike from Howard Lesser earned Highgate & Muswell Hill their first ever point in the MSFL as they drew with Pinner JFC. Jonny Kaye netted for Pinner who also missed a penalty.

Five goals from Wayne Davidson lifted the lid on Real Life’s 8-2 annihilation of Blizzard Storm. Charlie Bernstein, Eddie Lewin and Jamie Myers put the icing on the cake. Matt Jaffa and Alex Stolerman replied.
