BRADY MACCABI WHITES 5 BRADY MACCABI REDS 2
Solly Levy fired his second consecutive hat-trick as Brady Whites went top of the table with a thrilling 5-2 win over Brady Reds at the Hive in Edgware.
Sunday saw a clash of the league leaders Brady Whites versus Brady Reds who have both set the pace early on in the season and both undefeated in the league.
Brady Reds started well with some nice flowing moves which saw Zack Cohen pressing down the right-hand side. Harry Wagman had a couple of low shots early on from the left-hand side testing Brady White’s keeper Jamie Gordon.
The Whites began to get into their stride and in one sweeping move Jamie Gordon released the ball to striker Seb Davis who controlled the ball with one touch and sent a scorching drive into the net to take Whites into the lead.
The lead was doubled five minutes later by Solly Levy who slammed a shot into the top corner from a set piece.
Levy went on to take his second hat-trick in as many weeks with two more fabulous goals from the Brady White’s striker.
Brady Reds came out strongly in the second half and decided to have a go at the Whites. They were a constant danger with their wing play but the Whites' defence was marshalled superbly by Joseph Sweiry who had another fine controlled game with Jack Gordon at the back. Both Matty Black and Jacob Dobrin started to impose themselves for the Whites, with some fine running and skills down the wings in the second half.
Brady Reds started to push hard in the final 15 minutes of the game and Oliver Krusher found the back of the net with a low drive into the bottom corner to bring the game to 4-2.
Whites keeper Jamie Gordon was called into action with some fine saves to keep the score to 4-2 as Brady Reds continued to seek goals.
In order to deal with the threat of Reds in the final five minutes, the Whites decided to utilise the defensive capabilities of both Dylan Richards and Josh Ebel in the defence and midfield respectively to tighten the game up in the closing phases.
The Whites made the game safe in the closing stages when central midfielder Josh Ebel picked up a pass from Seb Davies, looked up and found the top right hand corner leaving the Reds goalkeeper no chance.
The final whistle blew at 5-2 with Brady White’s taking the top spot and continuing their unbeaten start to the season.
