Sefton Monk saluted his team's never-say-die attitude as a Joshua Cinna-inspired Boca Jewniors came back from the dead to beat Hertswood Vale - their first win of the season.

Boca looked dead and buried after Vale flew out of the blocks, with ELIO ELIA and one from Sam Cohen had put Vale into a seemingly unassailable 4-1 half-time lead, before the Boca boys staged the comeback of the season.

Looking shocked after some blunders across the pitch, Jamie Leboff pulled one back just before the break and that gave the visitors second-half impetus, and they started as they meant to go on - winning the 50/50 balls, getting a second one back and fighting for just about everything.

Boca then missed a penalty, had two scrambled off the line and it may have looked like the chance had gone - but as Anton Nyman had told JC Sport in the match preview, Cinna "was the man to pop up with the hat-trick of goals, including the last-minute winner. Michael Rosenthal scored Boca's other goal.

Boca boss Sefton Monk told JC Sport: "This victory means more than three points, it shows hard work dedication and behind-the-scenes work with organisational skills makes a difference.

"That win goes out to all those managers and chairman in Jewish football that fight week in week out all summer to keep their club and passion alive for yet another season."

Boca's Anton Nyman told JC Sport: "I couldn't be more proud of each and every man across the team, and no more than we deserved. From 4-0 down, we fought so hard to get to our first win of the season at 5-4. That's called some team spirit and desire showed by the team.

"We also said it was a must-win and we did exactly that - it was match which had it all, goals, fouls, rain and most importantly reward for the Boca faithful."
