Birmingham City target Israeli Awat

articlemain

Birmingham City have reportedly made enquiries about Real Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Awat.

Indications are that Awat is available for £1.7 million if Birmingham are unable to extend Joe Hart's loan deal from Manchester City. But with Mallorca in fourth place in La Liga and well placed to qualify for the Champions League, Awat would be reluctant to leave.

Hapoel Tel Aviv moved into pole position to clinch their first Israeli Premier Division title for 10 years after beating long-time leaders Maccabi Haifa.

Maaran Lala's winner lifted Hapoel above Haifa on goal difference.

In the relegation battle, John Gregory's Ahi Nazareth beat Hapoel Petach Tikvah 3-0. They are now only one point from safety.

Outgoing Israel manager Dror Kashtan has signed a one-year deal with Bnei Yehuda.

Israel has risen four places to 24th in the latest FIFA rankings, putting them above the Ivory Coast and Switzerland, who are competing at the World Cup.
