Better Leighton than never

Hendon Hawks Rangers bounced back after two back to back defeats with a hard fought win against Redbridge in the Maccabi Junior National Football League Under 11 Division.

Hendon Hawks were looking to hit Redbridge on the counter-attack with a strong defensive display. Redbridge dominated possession and carved out a couple of chances during the first half but were generally reduced to long range efforts.

Captain Shmuli Miller put in another strong defensive display and was instrumental in creating the games opener and eventual winner. A Redbridge attack was thwarted by Miller who released the ball instantly into the path of striker Jamie Rosen who drove the ball into the path of Joel Leighton who struck the ball into the far left hand corner of the goal, beyond the reach of the Redbridge keeper.

The second half continued in the same manner as the first with Redbridge dominating the game but unable to break down the Hawks defence. Isaac Fahidi made a number of key saves to keep the Hawks in the game and maintain a clean sheet.
