Belmont & Edgware Belmont & Edgware Cricket Club are looking forward to the new season following some large structural changes. A new committee, new sponsor, new partnership agreement and a new caterer will support the clubs activities.

They have signed a two-year deal with Lawrence Grant Accountants, enabling the club to continue developing and allowing players of all abilities to enjoy their sport.

A partnership with youth organisation Tribe UK allows all youngsters free membership to the club. Last year's trial arrangement saw Yaacov Barr and Gideon Matlin start their BECC career and now they are striving for first team selection.

The Club now has a kosher caterer for all home matches in Watford.

This year saw a new younger committee form, with former Ashley Connick, the former Junior Maccabiah captain, will captain the 1st XI in the Middlesex Sunday League. Michael Blasebalk takes on the reins as chairman, with Jonathan Evans and Adam Goldman now involved in the running of the Club. Ryan Monk has continued to captain the second team that has seen a lot of new faces.

The Inter-Schools Cup sponsored by Tribe UK will be held on 9th June and competed for by JFS, Hasmonean, King Solomon and Immanuel College. This is the perfect vehicle for young players show their talent. This hopefully is the start of a colts section but more details will be released in the near future.

Belmont & Edgware have tried to put together a bail-out package to keep Casual Nomads going but it might just mean a side made up of both clubs for a few games this season. The club policy has always been to support Jewish cricket. So they will fulfil the fixtures of the collapsed league and help other clubs in trouble.

Players to keep an eye on include Jonny Feigenbaum, Daniel Geey, David Kaplan and Jack Mendel.
