The all-rounder averaged 40 with the bat and 21 with the ball in what was his most consistent summer for the club.

Other winners included Jonny Eintracht, who picked up Players’ Player of the Year and Bowler of the Year, after arriving from Australia in June. Bowling a consistent line at good pace, he soon developed a liking to English conditions and took 20 wickets at an average of 14.60, including a hat-trick against Crouch End.

Dan Frumar (Best Batsman), Josh Reynolds (Young Player) and Adam Morris (Most Improved) were awarded for their contributions to a successful campaign, in which BECC achieved nine victories.

Addressing the club, captain Adam Jacobs noted that the team “had made great strides in 2018 by enjoying a competitive return to league cricket and integrating a number of new players”.

“The challenge in the future,” he added, “was to keep growing while maintaining BECC’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere for players of all abilities. With this in mind, he announced plans to play 2nd XI fixtures in 2019 for the first time since 2012.
