BECC 2nd XI had an interesting fixture against a team captained by none other than BECC's very own Steven Altmann-Richer.

Although he soon departed, for a low score, Crossed-Keys CC amassed 167-7 in their 30 overs.

Particular mention must go to Jack Mendel and Ben Tilley, both of whom bowled brilliantly, with each being rewarded with a brace of wickets. Goldman, Jeffries and Horowitz each chipped in with a wicket, with all the bowlers being well-supported in the field with some good catches, particularly by Jacobs and Goldman.

In reply, Cliff Horowitz top-scored with a well compiled half-century, eventually making 54 in the 28th over. Ably supported by Jacobs and with an injection of pace from the evergreen Ellis Tuhrim, BECC were close, but still needed 48 from two overs, a seemingly impossible task.

Despite skipper Ryan Monk, in his last appearance of the year doing his best Sobers impression in smashing a six and five boundaries in a rapid 31, BECC fell just short, losing by 11 runs.
