articlemain

Alyth Belsize completed a memorable season by clinching the double with a 3-0 success over HIS Blue in the final of the Maccabi Junior Football League Under Nine Cup.

Two well-taken goals from Lior Solomons-Wise and an excellent finish from Rudy Berman saw Alyth Belsize, captained by Max Cutner, run out worthy winners in Edgware.

Alyth Belsize manager Simon Cutner, who is assisted by Phil Godfrey, said: “The boys played really well and have had an excellent season, culminating in the double.

“This result shows that the smaller clubs are also capable of winning silverware and this can only be good for
Jewish football.”

Alyth Belsize will finish the season by taking part in the Jom Havoetbal event in Amsterdam.

There was also double delight for HIS White who ran out 4-1 winners against HMH Jaffa in the Under 10 final.

The closest match of the day saw HIS White beat HIS Blue 2-1 to lift the Under 11 cup.
