articlemain

Allweis in rampant mood. Alex Goodman (20) kept the scoreboard ticking for Salford but some clever bowling from Maccabi skipper Ray Tammam (3-29) left them in disarray.

The rain-affected match saw Salford pass the 100-mark with Elliot Koffman (24), Elliot Shires (20) and captain Josh Henry chancing their arm.

Salford were eventually dismissed for 120 with Ashley Landes (2-23), Adam Goldstone (1-10) and Allweis (3-12) well supported in the field by Alex Nadler, Steven Pearlman, Adam Goldstone and Ray Tammam who held on to sharp chances. Young wicketkeeper Leo Adelman chipped in with a vital stumping

Maccabi experimented with a new top order but it was Salford who had the upper hand early on grabbing three quick wickets thanks to Daniel Paul and Alex Goodman. Allweis and Tammam then steadied the ship with the latter hitting three boundaries in quick succession.

Allweis was then joined by Steven Pearlman and they steered Maccabi towards their target with a partnership of more than 50 runs.

Salford continued to battle with Daniel Paul (4-16) and Goodman (2 -34) setting up a grandstand finish.

Allweis held his nerve to register his second half century of the season, hitting the winning runs on his way to an unbeaten 70 as Maccabi won with more than three overs remaining.
