Allweis inspires Manchester CC

articlemain

Manchester Cricket Club climbed to third in the Greater Manchester Amateur Cricket League with a seven-wicket win over Trinity.

Trinity were soon in trouble when the dangerous Lowe was caught behind trying to get out of the way of a ferocious delivery from Huddy Lieberman.

Wickets then fell at regular intervals as Trinity found runs hard to come by. They showed great resilience in batting out the 40 overs but their total of 111 was never going to be enough against a strong Manchester batting line-up.

Pick of the bowlers was Steven Allweis with 4-25 off his 10 overs with a superb display of swing bowling. Akiva Lieberman performed well on his return from injury, whilst brother Huddy finished with 2-14 off his 10 overs.

Manchester's coasted towards victory, with Ray Tammam (20) and Jeffries (43) taking the team to within sight of victory before they both lost their wickets.
