A Little boost for Team GB golfers

articlemain

The management set-up for the Team GB golf squad competing at next summer’s Maccabiah Games in Israel has been announced.

Led by sports chairman Steve Schindler, professional golfer Sam Little will offer support to the squad which is looking to build on the success of the 2011 European Maccabi Games in Vienna, where Team GB brought home 16 medals, including seven gold.

GB will send male and female players in the Junior, Open and Masters categories.

Co-chairmen Anthony Harris, the president of Whitefield Golf Club, will be the link to the north with Maccabiah stalwart Adam Musikant overseeing the teams and the funding.

Schindler said: “We are determined to not only be the most successful team to represent GB golf in Israel but also ensure we embrace the whole experience of all the sports together at the Games.”

Trial will be held on June 10 (south) and July 9 (north).

Team captains: Jeremy Bohn, Nicky Harris (Open Men), Louisa Tarn (Open Ladies), Martin Lerner (Masters Men), Candy Kaye (Masters Ladies), Ben Green (Juniors).
