The Merseysiders’ five-star display ensured defending champions Leeds Maccabi relinquished their grip on the trophy. Zak Goldsmith (2), Maxim Green, Paul Harris and Adam Shiffman were all on target for Haroldeans. Leeds boss Adam Kristall said: “I’m proud of the players for reaching a semi-final in what has been a difficult season for us.”

Meanwhile, South Manchester Sports Club 1st reached the semi-finals after beating Sedgley Park Celtic on penalties.

Jordan Warrents was South Manchester’s penalty hero. Earlier, Ethan Krell’s early opener for South was cancelled out by Sedgley’s Jake Kelly. South Manchester regained the lead through Joe Glaskie before Jack Berman once again restored parity.

Avi Libbert and Kelly struck for Sedgley before South Manchester hauled themselves back into it via Glaskie’s deflected strike.

With the clock ticking down, Nathan Ezair sent the tie straight to penalties — and Warrents emerged as the hero.

South Manchester 2nd will be their opponents in the last-four after their own shoot-out success over Maccabi Manchester Yellow.

A 3-3 draw took the tie to penalties and two saves ensured South Manchester squeezed through.
