MACCABI MANCHESTER BLUE 1 HAROLDEANS 3

Mike Bloomberg admits Haroldeans are still a work in progress after launching their MSJL title defence with a routine win.

Max Barnett's brace and a Bobby Fishel strike were enough to earn the win.

Ben Loynds bagged a consolation for Maccabi Manchester Blue.

But Haroldeans boss Bloomberg was far from satisfied and said: "It was a very hard-fought game.

"I'm glad to start our title defence with an away win. But there was some sloppy play that we need to work on."

REICH 2 MACCABI MANCHESTER YELLOW 6

Michael Gastwirth tore into his Reich players after crashing heavily to Maccabi Manchester Yellow.

Reich were tipped to mount a title push but they were given a rude awakening here.

Joey Pine and Andy Shaffer were on target for Reich but they were second best against their ruthless visitors.

Reich director of football Gaswirth said pulled no punches in his assessment and said: "It was a shambolic performance.

"There was no fight, no desire and no commitment.

"With a lot of new players who have never played 11-a-side before, they will need to hit the ground running very quickly.

"Otherwise the season could be over even before it's begun."

Maccabi cruised home with Adam Fenton (2), Kai Gibson, Moshe Hasid, Saul Clarke and Bradley Levy all finding the net in the rout.

SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 2nd 1 LEEDS MACCABI 7

Leeds Maccabi were in seventh heaven after serving notice of their title credentials by blowing away South Manchester Sports 2nd.

Adam Kristall's side scored six times in the first-half to stun the hosts.

Raphael Kaye (2), Dan Shaw, Louis Fisher, Nick Vale, Theo Tobias and an own goal were on target for the Yorkshireman in a one-sided contest.

Josh Gordon grabbed a consolation for the hosts with Leeds boss Kristall hailing it a job well done.

Leeds have now won two out of two and Kristall said: "We were fantastic in the first-half and put the game to bed.

"It was a professional performance and I'm delighted with the start we have made.

"Our next game is against Haroldeans and it will be a tougher match. We know we will have stand up against a good side."

SEDGLEY PARK CELTIC 2 SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 1st 2
