Chigwell clearly signalled their intentions with an 11-2 win over Division 2 leaders EHRS.
Lloyd Becker notched up five goals and Mark Conway (2), Scott Warren, Adam Klein, Richard Slater and Rob Donn also got onto the scoresheet for Chigwell. Steve Krieger and Malcolm Joseph (pen) replied for EHRS.
Lions A also progressed, at the expense of Brady Maccabi A. Graeme Grossman gave Brady A the lead, but Rob Glass, Bradley Lazarus and Craig Pearl turned it round for Lions as they won 3-1.
In the League, Division One leaders North London Raiders extended the gap at the top to seven points as they saw off Scrabble with a 6-0 victory, thanks to goals from Lee Cash (2), Hezi Yechiel, Tony Plaskow, Jonny Blain and Alex Bourne.
And in Division Two, two goals from Jon Nesbitt earned Brady B a first win of the season as they pulled off the shock of the day, beating St John’s Wood Tigers 2-0 and lifting them off the bottom of the table.
