Danny Daggers returned from a two-year sabbatical and he added a new dimension going forward for the visitors.

Playing freedom in the no. 10 role, Lazarus benefitted from the creativity and guile of Daggers and Stefan Benfredj behind him.

MLFC forged ahead midway through the first half when Sam McCarthy played in Lazarus who fired home from an acute angle.

The hosts drew level soon after following an error by goalkeeper Bradley Lee, whose attempted clearance ricocheted off a Latymer striker for a simple tap-in.

Jeff Gotch saw his header turned on to the post by the Latymer goalkeeper before a shot from Scott Warren fell into the path of Lazarus who made it 2-1 at the break.

MLFC were the dominant force in the second half as the Latymer players tired.

Lloyd Nygate, who was making his full debut at centre-half released Saul Conway who played in another debutant Paul Allen who registered with an excellent solo effort before Warren added a fourth.

Latymer scored their second goal ten minutes from time before a farcical ending saw MLFC finish with eight players after McCarthy was sinbinned and Gotch and Hadley Silver were dismissed.

MLFC: Brad Lee, Raanan Firmin, Lloyd Nygate, Sam McCarthy, Alex Norman, Stefan Benfredj, Danny Daggers, Brad Lazarus, Hadley Silver, Saul Conway, Paul Lenchner. Subs: Jeff Gotch, Paul Allen, Scott Warren
