Lipman gets London Lions back on track

Austin Lipman starred with a hat-trick as London Lions bounced back from last week’s demoralising defeat against Baldock to secure a 4-0 win over Langford.

Lions were keen to put last week’s disappointment at Baldock behind them and continue their otherwise fine run of form.

It didn’t take long to get things started; after only 17 minutes  Lipman added to his catalogue of free-kick goals in a Lions shirt when he found a gap in the rather porous wall and arrowed his effort into the bottom corner to open the scoring.

Lipman doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time – this time his effort from long-range, finding the top corner to send the hosts into the break in good shape.

The Lions were in control throughout, and Lipman completed a superb treble when Liron Mannie whipped in a cross from the right which the Lions midfielder glanced perfectly into the far corner.

Lipman's one-man show was disrupted when Lions scored a fourth near the end when the now beaten Langford got in a mess of their own making at the back, allowing Adam Bolle to slot home his 25th of the season.

All in all, a good day’s work which Lions can hopefully continue with two cup finals and a busy run-in to come.
