SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE

LONDON LIONS 2 AMPTHILL TOWN 1

The returning Lions striker has scored eight goals in his seven games since he re-signed for the club and his goals along with the quality of Austin Lipman, proved to be the marginal difference between the sides.

Both teams played well and there was nothing between the sides until Adam Harvey’s cross from the left was headed in expertly by Bolle on 43 minutes to give Lions a lead at the interval.

The teams well matched throughout a competitive second half, with chances at both ends.

It took until deep into the second half for Bolle to notch his second and secure the points.

It wasn’t quite done, however, as Ampthill replied a few minutes later to set up a potential comeback, but Lions saw the game out to a victory.

With the league dominated by runaway leaders Southall,  Lions are now one of seven or eight teams looking for a promotion as runners-up; and if we can keep pulling out wins like this, who knows?

LIONS: James Harpin, Ben Goldberg, Adam Harvey, Adam Myeroff, Nick Landesberg, Charlie Kasler, Max Kyte, Austin Lipman, Adam Burchell, Mitch Hahn, Adam Bolle. Subs: Josh Shack, Tyler Smith, Adam Lipman

GOALS: Bolle 2
