Two silver awards have been presented to Octagon for its grade II listed converted mansion at Wall Hall, in Aldenham, Hertfordshire. The accolades, from What House?, were for best luxury development and best renovation. Each of the seven converted homes in this castellated manor house is a one-off. They range from a 1,100 sq ft two-bedroom second-floor apartment to a 6,000 sq ft, three-storey baronial-style wing, with two reserved car spaces each and invaluable lock-up storage rooms in the secure underground car park. There is just one Wall Hall apartment left for sale, a first-floor two-bedroom unit, at £750,000, available from agent Real Estates.

Real Estates has recently sold one of the largest new-build homes in Radlett. It secured an attended exchange within 48 hours of the purchaser’s viewing the property, also built by Octagon. The price was just under £6 million.

The 10,000 sq ft eight-bedroom residence had not been formally marketed, but Real Estates, with joint agent Village Estates, ensured that the transaction was discreetly and speedily concluded.

Real Estates’ Stephen Barnet says: “The new owners are thrilled to be moving shortly to their sumptuous, beautifully-appointed new pad, featuring spectacular indoor swimming pool complex, galleried landing with sweeping staircase and jaw-dropping crystal chandelier and lift to all floors.”

In Totteridge, north London, Octagon has built two large detached properties on Harmsworth Way. Again, prior to official release, Real Estates has sold one of these homes to a local resident.

Mr Barnet is adamant that, despite the uncertain economic climate, demand is still high for quality property in prime and established locations, at more than £2 million. Real Estates is soon to release a further two detached Octagon properties in Stanmore and inquiries are coming in steadily.
