Second German rabbi facing circumcision charges

articlemain

One of Germany’s most prominent rabbis, Yitshak Ehrenberg, is facing criminal charges after publicly promising to continue carrying out circumcisions.

Rabbi Ehrenberg made the pledge on national television in July, in response to a Cologne court ruling that religious circumcision is a criminal act. The charge against him follows a recent attempt to prosecute a rabbi in Hof, Bavaria, for carrying out ritual circumcisions.

It is not known who filed the complaint against Rabbi Ehrenberg.
