Murdered Mumbai rabbi's father files lawsuit

articlemain

The father of the Chabad rabbi who was murdered by terrorists in Mumbai two years ago is taking legal action against the Pakistani intelligence agency, the ISI.

Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in a Brooklyn federal court.

The rabbi, whose son and pregnant daughter-in-law were killed during the two-day siege at the Indian Jewish centre in November 2008, is also suing the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-E-Taiba.

In July GK Pillai, the Indian Home Secretary minister accused Pakistan of masterminding “from beginning to end” the attacks during which militants killed 166 people.

Indian officials had previously implicated the ISI and Mr Pillai said that the ISI chief “knew everything”.

The couple were gunned down just days before their son turned two. Moshe was rescued by his Indian nanny Sandra Samuel, who found an escape route out of the besieged Nariman House.

This Friday marks two years since locations across Mumbai were attacked.
