Lucky Succot escape for the President Shimon Peres

articlemain

For Israeli President Shimon Peres, nature came a little too close for comfort this Succot.

Mr Peres was hosting a gathering in his succah at home in Jerusalem this week when a gust of wind blew a sign bearing the state emblem of the menorah, and a large potted plant, on to his head.

The 89-year-old statesman’s bodyguards rushed to his aid, but discovered that the president was fine and had sustained no injuries.

Mr Peres stayed in the succah and continued to host the celebration.
