Fatah has removed the mayor of a West Bank village from his position after Jewish settlers were filming attending his son's wedding.

Radi Nassar was also removed from his post on the Palestinian Education Ministry on Friday after Palestinian media identified four Jewish settlers among the hundreds who attended his son's wedding in Deir Qaddis, west of Ramallah on Thursday, Haaretz reports.

The settlers appeared in video of the celebrations that circulated on social media.

"This is a scathing violation of all of our national values and an affront to the position of every Palestinian," the ministry said.

A list of the guests at the nuptials has been passed to Palestinian security officials.

He has insisted he did not invite the four settlers, adding: "When they told me and my son that there are four Jews who entered the party, I went over and threw them out of the place."

He claimed they had arrived with invited guests, with whom they were working as mechanics.
