The Coen brothers are turning their attention to the small screen.

The award-winning duo, who have four Academy Awards, have begun creating and producing an hour-long comedy about "a touchy Los Angeles private investigator".

The Jewish brothers, whose films include Fargo and True Grit, will not be writing the script but they are said to have been heavily involved with the project f ro m the outset.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Harve Karbo will follow the detective and his "deadbeat friends" as they interact with famous faces.
