HBO plan Hitler versus the magicians drama

articlemain

Two celebrated Jewish writers are developing a television series for HBO about a group of magicians taking on Adolf Hitler.

American author Michael Chabon, who wrote The Yiddish Policeman’s Union, is collaborating with his wife Ayelet Waldman on the show.

Tentatively titled Hobgoblin, the plot is said to involve a band of conmen and wizards battling the Nazis with magic during the Holocaust.

It will be the first joint project for the couple, although both have had considerable screen successes.

Mr Chabon’s novel Wonder Boys was turned into a successful film starring Michael Douglas in 2000, while Ms Waldman’s book Love and Other Impossible Pursuits became the Natalie Portman film The Other Woman. The film is set to be released this year.
