A quarter of JDate survey respondents would marry cheating partner

Men are expected to be the primary breadwinners, wives want to be younger than their husbands and around 25 per cent of people would consider marrying a partner who had cheated on them in their relationship, according to a survey co-led by top Jewish dating website, JDate.

The statistics were taken from a survey of 2,600 men and women, aged 18 to 59, in the United States.

The survey found that two-thirds of men would prefer to date someone younger than them, and 83 per cent of women would rather date someone older than them.

Thirty-nine per of women also felt that the man should be the primary bread-winner.

The survey, in which 28 per cent of respondents admitted to being unfaithful in a relationship, found that men and women have different definitions of what constitutes 'infidelity'.

While 68 per cent of women considered flirting online to be cheating, only 51 per cent of men agreed. When asked whether having repeated sexual intercourse with another was cheating, 92 per cent of women and 86 per cent of men said it was.

The survey was commissioned by JDate along with religious dating website Christian Mingle. JDate professes to be responsible for more Jewish marriages than all other dating sites combined.
