The music video also stars the comedian Marlon Solomon who is cast as a racist

Comedian and rapper Joe Jacobs took a swipe at antisemites and conspiratorial cranks from across the political spectrum in a new rap video unveiled on Monday.

The short clip filmed last year with lyrics from Lee Kern is one of several videos to be released as part of “We are truthers”, an educational campaign launched by the Antisemitism Policy Trust and the Community Security Trust.

The initiative, which has its own website with additional material about tropes and conspiracy theories, is an attempt to prevent those susceptible to conspiracy culture from falling prey to antisemitism.

"The pandemic has forced us online for increasingly long periods of time. Whilst living in the digital age brings a number of benefits, the spread of antisemitic conspiracy theories, in particular, is deeply worrying.

"We want students and young adults to understand the dangers of antisemitism and racist conspiracy theories. Hopefully, people will enjoy the content and learn something too," said Danny Stone, chief executive of the APT.

The video also stars the comedian Marlon Solomon who, cast as an antisemite, tells Mr Jacobs he doesn’t “look Jewish” and presses him over his stance on Israel.

Mr Jacobs, meanwhile, delivers educational verses about antisemitism and also stars as “smuck from the left”, a “bloke from the right” and a tin-hat wearing crank.

“Here's a glum rap about Jew-hate for me to unpack,” the 38-year-old can be heard singing. "Jews are a race. 15 mill of them in the world about. 300K here in the UK, not all of them with curls, come in all shapes and sizes."

"Rich, poor, black, white, young and old, good people and even some ones I don't like."

Mr Jacobs hosted a BBC Radio 4 documentary last year about artists who blend rap and comedy in their work. He recently appeared on Channel 4’s stand-up show ClubNite.
