Teenagers mugged at gunpoint

articlemain

Three Jewish teenagers were recovering this week after being robbed at gunpoint shortly after Shabbat went out last weekend.

The boys, two aged 15 and one 14, were confronted by three masked men in West Hampstead, north-west London, as they walked to a friend’s house at around midnight on Saturday.

One of the victims, who did not wished to be named, said his phone and wallet were stolen and his Magen David necklace ripped off his neck.

The experience had left them shaken but unhurt. “One of us was poked in the hip with a gun and told to empty his pockets. They took his phone, bus card and a few pounds,” the boy said.

“I usually go out with friends at that time. I thought it was a very safe, Jewish area — but obviously not.”

Two of the boys attend Hasmonean High School, the other goes to King Solomon High School.

A police spokesperson confirmed that officers were called “following reports of a robbery”. No arrests have been made.
