A Jewish teenager who was stabbed 12 times in a knife attack is “making a good recovery”, his rabbi has told congregants.

The 16-year-old JCoSS student was rushed to hospital after being found in Primrose Hill Road, in north London, with wounds to his leg.

Rabbi Danny Rich, the minister of Finchley Progressive Synagogue, wrote to congregants today to inform them that the boy was recovering from “serious but not life-threatening” injuries.

He wrote: “We are thankful for the prompt work of the emergency services.

“(He) is expected to be home at the weekend and I have their permission to circulate this information.

“I saw him (and his parents) the morning after the incident, and (he) is receiving support from me, family, friends, LJY Netzer and JCoSS.”

Police and the Community Security Trust were called to the incident, which took place around 9.30pm on Tuesday.

It was reported that he was attacked by a group of boys.

The CST said the attack is not believed to be antisemitic.
