articlemain

Vandals have painted antisemitic graffiti on a Jewish home in Hendon.

An image of a swastika was daubed above the front door of a property on Sunday night.

The Community Security Trust, which monitors antisemitism, said: “We are aware of the graffiti and we are working with the police on all reported incidents of antisemitism.”

Hendon resident Lara Smallman said: “I live three roads away and I noticed it as I was walking passed.

“It is shocking, I’ve heard about attacks on synagogues but to come to a Jewish home deliberately is very worrying.

“I know the house belongs to an Orthodox family. I asked their neighbours if they needed any help but they were ok.”

She said: “Two women across the road told me they noticed some people around at midnight but didn’t think anything of it at the time.”
