Sacha Baron Cohen GQ comedian of the year

Sacha Baron Cohen was named comedian of the year at GQ Magazine’s man of the year awards on Tuesday.

This year saw the release of his third character film, The Dictator, in which he played Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen, leader of fictional country North African Republic of Wadiya.

The star of Borat and Bruno, who attended the events with his parents, was presented his award by actor Rob Brydon. An attendee of the star studded event at the Royal Opera House said that in Mr Baron Cohen’s acceptance speech he joked about the death threats he receives for his controversial films.
